The Best Western Cross Lanes Hotel near Wrexham and Chester, is a hotel and catering business providing goods and services in the areas of accommodation, meeting rooms and the provision of food and drink to a varied client base.
The Management and Employees recognise their responsibility to manage the environmental impacts of our activities, products and services.
- To adapt energy saving practices and energy efficient equipment to bring about lower gas and electrical consumption in order to reduce our carbon footprint.
- To reduce waste by recycling materials and encouraging suppliers to minimise packaging in order to reduce our landfill impact.
- To minimise water wastage by maintaining usage and installing equipment which conserves metered water.
- To use water butts and other means to retain rainwater for use in the grounds.
- To source wherever possible bio friendly chemicals and fertilisers in order to minimise chemical impact on the environment.
- To work with suppliers who operate in an environmentally responsible manner and support the principle of minimising human impact on the environment.
- To source food from the local suppliers whose products are produced locally in the best environmentally way, to achieve best quality and minimum food miles.
- To ensure that the garden and grounds are maintained and that there is an ongoing plan for planting of new trees and shrubs.
- To reduce wherever possible the amount of cleaning of linen by using new practices and products that do not have such an impact on the environment.
- To ensure that all employees are aware of the Hotel Environmental Policy and are encouraged to contribute towards improved environmental practices.
- To communicate the environmental policy to guests through the effective use of printed and electronic media and to encourage environmentally responsible behaviour.
- To comply with relevant legislation, regulation and other requirements relating to the environmental impact, and to continually update best practice in relation to environmental issues.
